My skills
A skill is a written playbook that Claude Code loads for one job. I wrote all of these for my own work. Each one runs when I type its trigger or say its phrase.
The skill files sit in a private repo for now, so there is no code to link yet. Slipway, where the orchestration skills run, has a public install page.
What /shipit does
One command takes a branch to a pull request that is ready for review. Five steps are the skill’s. The sixth is mine.
-
Issue
It writes the problem down as an issue.
-
Commits
It runs the project’s checks, then groups my changes into clear commits.
-
Draft
It opens a draft pull request, linked to the issue.
-
Review
It checks each review comment before trusting it, then fixes what holds up.
-
Ready
It marks the pull request ready and waits for the checks to pass.
-
Merge: me, by hand
The skill never merges. It stops at step 5.
Steps 1 to 3 skip themselves if the work is already done, so running it twice is safe.
See where it fits in the Build loopAll my skills
Grouped by the job they do. Each row gives the skill, what it does and how it starts.
Shipping
From a branch to a reviewed change. I always merge by hand.
- shipitTakes a branch to a review-clean pull request. Never merges.Trigger: Type /shipit, or say “ship this branch”
- commitGroups my changes into clear commits. Waits for my yes.Trigger: Type /commit, or say “commit my changes”
- create-issueWrites the problem as an issue. Posts the fix idea as a comment.Trigger: Type /create-issue, or say “open a ticket”
- create-prOpens a draft pull request, brought up to date first and linked to its issue.Trigger: Type /create-pr, or say “open a PR”
- fix-pr-reviewChecks each review comment before fixing it. Then replies and resolves.Trigger: Type /fix-pr-review, or say “fix the review comments”
- rebaseBrings a branch up to date without losing unsaved work.Trigger: Type /rebase, or say “rebase onto main”
- project-initStarts a project log, so the next session knows the story so far.Trigger: Type /project-init, or say “set up project log”
- closeEnds a session. Saves what I learned and logs the work.Trigger: Type /close, or say “wrap up”
- portfolio-updateAdds a new Part to The Tenants’ Voice write-up on this site, after I sign it off.Trigger: Type /portfolio-update, or it starts from /close after Tenants’ Voice work
Research vault
These run my research notes. Most run on a schedule and send a PDF to my phone.
- ingestFiles new clippings and links into the right notes, then clears the inbox.Trigger: Type /ingest, or it runs when something lands in the inbox
- teachTurns recent reading into a short PDF lesson on my phone.Trigger: Type /teach, or it runs three mornings a week
- video-teachTurns a video link into a briefing PDF I can read on my phone.Trigger: Send a video link to my Telegram bot, or type /video-teach
- briefingA morning PDF of only what is new or broken.Trigger: Type /briefing, or it runs each morning
- synthesiseFinds patterns across recent sources. Proposes edits, then applies them after 24 hours.Trigger: Type /synthesise, or it runs each week
- vault-statusA health check for the notes: gaps, clashes and stale pages. Also waits 24 hours before it applies.Trigger: Type /vault-status, or it runs once a month
- build-pipelineAsks a few questions, then sets up a new scheduled job that ends with a message to my phone.Trigger: Type /build-pipeline
Orchestration
These run several agents at once, inside Slipway, the desktop app I built.
- slipway-fleetStarts up to five agents, each in its own tab, then reads and combines their files.Trigger: Say “spin up agents” or “use the fleet”
- slipwayUses, debugs and fixes the Slipway desktop app.Trigger: Any question about Slipway
- slipway-cliReads issues, pull requests and branches from Slipway.Trigger: Ask “what’s the repo status?”
UX
Checks screens against UX rules before anyone reviews them.
- hub-ux-designApplies 20 UX laws, then scores the screen before review. One model builds, another reviews. This is the general version.Trigger: Any page, form or screen to build
- behavioural-uxAudits a page or flow against 40 behavioural science principles, each tied to its study and effect size, and returns exact copy to test. Every number is a prior, not a promise. A nudge that only works because someone misunderstood fails the check.Trigger: Any page that asks someone to act
This page was scored with hub-ux-design before it went live. See behavioural-ux applied to three mock sites.
