Open-source local app
Open Loops
A small app by Oscar Craven that runs on your computer. It keeps a list of everything you have asked people for — on Slack and by email — until they reply, then reminds you until you reply. When a request goes quiet, it writes the “just checking in…” follow-up the way you would write it.
- Runs on your computer. The developer operates no servers and never sees your mail.
- Uses the AI subscription you already have: Claude, ChatGPT (Codex) or Grok.
- Drafts by default. It never sends unless you switch sending on.
- MIT Licence. Source on GitHub.
Why it asks for Gmail
Gmail is optional. If you connect it, Open Loops requests Gmail access so it can:
- Read messages you sent and the threads they belong to, to find unanswered requests.
- Create drafts of follow-ups in those threads.
- Send a follow-up only if you switch sending on in Settings. Sending is off by default.
Gmail data stays on your computer, except as described in the privacy policy. Slack is a separate, optional connection.
